Woodlands and Waterfalls of wales

Welcome to my gallery of the Waterfalls and Woodland of Wales

In my opinion Wales is at its most beautiful when it is full of water, and never more picturesque than when the hundreds of Welsh waterfalls are in full flow. From spectacular falls plunging hundreds of feet over sheer cliffs such as Pystyll Rhaeadr in the Berwyn Mountains or Aber Falls in Snowdonia to the beautiful cascades of waterfall country in the Brecon Beacons and many more in between, Wales has a huge variety of waterfalls, each with their own characteristics and individual charm.  

My wanderings to find the waterfalls of Wales have often taken me through the woodlands of Wales and, although I have always enjoyed spending time in the woods, it is only recently that my interest in woodland photography has heightened. Woodland has almost always been a secondary subject in my photos, the background for a waterfall or frame for my primary subject, but I have always found that a stroll through the woods is where my imagination becomes most active and it was time to take advantage of that in my photography. From the Pine and Spruce trees of Hafren forest covering the slopes of Plynlimon, to the Celtic rainforest, hidden in the glacial gorges of Snowdonia, Wales has a diverse and interesting range of woodlands, which I intend to explore and photograph for years to come.
