The beauty of the landscape of Wales started my passion for exploring the great outdoors and was the reason I first began carrying my camera with me on my hiking adventures. My love for landscape photography has since taken me all over Wales, from the mountains of Snowdonia and the picturesque beaches of Anglesey in the north, through the Cambrian Mountains and the beautiful countryside of Montgomeryshire in the heart of Wales to the waterfalls and peaks of the Brecon Beacons and the stunning Pembrokeshire coastline in the south. Aotearoa/New Zealand is a dream location for most landscape photographers and in 2017 I set off to fulfill that dream, embarking on a year of exploring this beautiful country. From the pristine beaches of the Coromandel Peninsula and the active volcanoes of Tongariro National park on the North Island to the snow capped peaks of the Southern Alps and the towering waterfalls of Fiordland, I tried to visit and photograph as much as I could in during my time in New Zealand. I first visited Australia in 2007, a month-long visit that had me hooked on it’s diverse landscapes and laid back atmosphere. I hadn’t taken up landscape photography seriously at the time but from the moment that trip ended I was determined to return. In 2018 I got the opportunity to extend my southern hemisphere travels and spend three months exploring this wonderful country, this time bringing my camera with me. Starting with the iconic views of Sydney Harbour my trip took me from epic storms in the Blue Mountains to dodging emu in Wilsons Promontory and avoiding wildfires in Tasmania, somewhere in between I managed to capture some photos of my Australian adventure and you can view my gallery of images from Australia here >>
