Welcome to my gallery of the mountains and lakes of Wales

From Snowdon, Wales’ highest mountain, the Glyderau and Carneddau ranges surrounding the Ogwen valley and the rugged beauty of Snowdonia National Park in the north through the wild and remote Cambrian Mountains in Mid Wales to the distinctive peaks of Pen Y Fan and Corn Du of the Brecon Beacons in the south. Wales offers beautiful mountain scenery throughout the country.

Wales’ spectacular mountain vistas often come with some attractive lake shore views. Wales has countless lakes, in fact there are around 250 in Snowdonia National Park alone. Whether they are natural in formation, sitting high up in the ice sculpted mountain cwms or the man made reservoirs of Lake Vyrnwy and The Elan valley, each has its own enchanting characteristics and are always a joy to explore.  

I’ve spent years hiking in the Welsh mountains, long before I began taking photos, but it was my hikes and the desire to share my experiences and the beautiful scenery I witnessed while exploring Wales that began my love for landscape photography.
